“Stuff the Truck” for Holiday Helper Association November 28-December 5
Date Posted: Tuesday, 29th November 2022

SCHEDULED EVENTS FOR 2022 HOLIDAY SEASON

Tag Days September 2022  Funds collected from the Tag Days will be used to purchase items for the Holiday Helper Christmas Event in December.

November 14-22  Hat and Mitten Drive

We are asking that families send in new children’s gloves, mittens or hats to be donated to Holiday Helper for their Christmas Event.  They put these on a “tree” and are used for stocking stuffers.

November 28-December 5  “Stuff the Truck” Toy Drive

We encourage students to bring in “new” toys during this week.  The best toys/gifts are ones that your own children would enjoy.  Our goal is to fill a U-Haul truck with toys for their drive.

New items they are in need of include:

  • age appropriate toys (footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, match box cars, dolls, etc)
  • puzzles
  • children’s books
  • coloring books/crayons
  • stuffed animals
  • art projects and craft sets
  • infant items
  • bicycles
  • age appropriate gift cards (for teens)

Want to know more about it…

The Middle School Outreach supports Holiday Helper located at Fort Lee. This outreach supports military members and provides an opportunity for our service men/women to select Christmas/Holiday gifts for members of their families. Recipients have to be recommended by a superior, and are allowed to select 3 gifts per child plus hat/mittens (see below) for their stocking stuffers. There is no “overhead” (it is entirely volunteer based), and all donations go directly to our service members. Over the years, our school has contributed an amazing amount to this outreach, both in funds and gifts. We are considered dedicated donors. This outreach is coordinated and managed by our middle school students with the direction and support of their Religion teachers. It is a very tangible, hands-on outreach for them that provides them with the opportunity to really feel like they have made a difference for someone and inspires them to make a real difference in this world.
