Georgette M. Richards Scholarship Awarded to Fourth Recipient
Date Posted: Tuesday, 21st July 2015

The fourth recipient of the Georgette M. Richards Scholarship is Mark Myers, the son of Ashley and Richard Myers. Mark was presented with this honor by Principal Emily Elliott at the end-of-year School Awards Ceremony on June 9th.

“This quiet and humble student exemplifies our mission in many ways” said Mrs. Elliott. “… [W]e are in the business of building great Catholic and Christian leaders. This student not only takes accountability for his own learning, he takes care of his siblings, friends and anyone in need. I have witnessed this young man maturing over the last five years and I am proud and honored that he walks the halls at SEES.”

The Fund was established by the School Board in the Spring of 2012 to honor retiring SEES Principal Georgette M. Richards’ commitment to excellence in Catholic education. Every June, the Fund awards a partial SEES tuition scholarship to one exemplary, well-rounded and spiritually grounded rising eighth-grader.

On May 4 and May 5, St. Edward-Epiphany Girl Scout Troop 451 completed their Silver Project by planning and organizing activities for the after school program at All Saints Catholic School. The Scouts entertained some 40 preschool through third grade students. Not only did the Scouts learn to be organized and responsible but realized, we are all Gods children.

After our two day event, the troop made a $250.00 donation to help fund the new reading program at All Saints Catholic School.

Our troop is an amazing group of thirteen girls that combined have over 500 involvement hours ranging from James River Region Clean Up to Preparing and serving dinner at Freedom House.
