SEES LAUNCHES MIDDLE SCHOOL COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECT
As a component of the St. Edward-Epiphany Middle School experience, students are expected to complete a minimum number of community outreach hours per school year. We are excited to introduce our new community service initiative for the 2016-2017 school year, “SOAR INTO SERVICE.” This program will create new and meaningful ways for our middle schoolers to be engaged with their community not only in their free time, but also during their time here at school.
For the 2016-2017 school year, each middle school student will be asked to complete 10 hours of community outreach – 5 hours to be completed in a school elective program under faculty guidance, and 5 hours to be completed independently by participating in approved service learning opportunities. Students will be responsible for maintaining their service hours in the online volunteer tracking software application used by the school.
Highlights from our students’ accomplishments will be featured on the SEES website and in the independent SEES Masterpiece Blog. At the end of the school year, each student completing the program will receive a Certificate of Completion and a letter from the Principal acknowledging their participation and accomplishments, and an invitation to a special Volunteer Awards Breakfast.
