Wreaths Across America is an organization whose goal is to provide wreaths for each grave in our U. S. Veterans’ cemeteries on National Wreaths Across America Day every year in December. This year, SEES has partnered with this organization in support of the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia (VAVCAM). Thanks to the generosity of the SEES community, 179 additional graves will be remembered this Christmas!
On December 14, 2019 a Wreath Laying ceremony will be held at VAVCAM. Please consider honoring our fallen heroes by sponsoring this event or participating in the laying of remembrance wreaths.

Please enter the cemetery through the main entrance and proceed to the right. You will be directed where to park by a cemetery staff member. Weather permitting vehicles will be parked on the grass. In case of inclement weather, vehicles will be parallel parked along the right side of the roadway. Please pull as far forward as possible forward to maximize parking. Parking at the cemetery is limited so carpooling and off-site parking is recommended.
Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Virginia Veterans Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes/muck boots that can get dirty, depending on how wet the ground maybe, it could be very muddy.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinator’s instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as “how” they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help to achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
Thank you to all those who are going out to support such an amazing tradition.
